The description of that setting says it should be the same as the retraction distance. Will be doing more test.Įdit 2 : The culprit was the setting "Mininum Extrusion Distance Window". I printed another retraction test that has bigger towers, with the first Cura profile, that one came out flawless as well. (Note that I also tested a regular XYZ cube, that one is pretty much flawless but there's no retractions)Įdit : I think it might be caused by the specific tower I was trying to print in Cura. And since I'm using the stock profile, I'm not sure where the problem is in Cura.

I'm also using the stock profiles of SuperSlicer.Īt this point, I know the filament is good and the temperature is fine and the flow factor is fine. And now it's nearly perfect at all values (some stringing under 0.5mm and above 1.2mm, but between these two values it's perfect. (same temperatures, same flow factor) The tower uses a different model and start from 0mm/s to 14 mm/s, each step increase by 0.1mm/s. Then to make sure it wasn't a filament issue, I launched SuperSlicer and generated a retraction test from there. I changed the retraction speed to 60 mm/s (detract speed still 45 mm/s) and enabled "Retract at layer change". I tried again with Cura but trying to copy some settings from SuperSlicer. Then I used a random tower I found online, added a few Change at Z to set retractions to 0.5mm (bottom) to 1.2mm (top), each step increasy by 0.1mm/s. I used the stock "Standard 0.2mm" print profile. I started from clean profiles, added my printer as a new Ender 3 Pro, installed octoprint and material settings plugins, added my custom flow factor for the PLA spool I'm using in the filament settings, with a temperature of 200☌ hot end, and 60☌ bed. Here's a picture showing what I'm talking about : I don't know if it's new from 5.0.0 because I have not used 4.x for a while, but I'm really struggling with stringing.
